Rachel Jones

Rachel has over 7 years of experience in the multifamily industry. She is responsible for underwriting and capitalizing transactions for Sitka Residential. Prior to joining Sitka, Rachel worked as a mortgage banker at Greystone where she sized, structured, and closed over $7B of multifamily debt. In addition to mortgage banking, Rachel also worked as an underwriter for Freddie Mac where she underwrote over $2B multifamily loans.

Tony Crane has over 35 years of experience in the residential home building and general contracting industries. He provides operations management to the Sitka Residential team. During his career he’s worked on design, development, construction and warranty for thousands of homes in the Mid-Atlantic region. He’s managed marketing, sales, construction and warranty departments in numerous organizations. He’s held the position of Vice President for Ryland Homes, Operations Manager for DR Horton Homes, and Owner and President of Crane Homes. In addition to his work at Sitka Residential, Tony is co-owner of the general contracting firm Efficient Home, based in Maryland.

Rich Thometz oversees the land acquisition and development process for Sitka Residential. In addition, he manages legal and financial aspects of the company. Rich has over 35 years of experience in the real estate development industry. He’s entitled, developed and completed thousands of mixed use and residential building lots in dozens of communities in the Mid- Atlantic and Florida in his career. He’s worked as Vice President and Legal Counsel for Weyerhaeuser’s Winchester Homes, after obtaining his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Rich also owns and operates Hailey Development, a real estate development company, and is co-owner of Efficient Home, a general contracting firm based focused on energy efficiency services work.

Steve oversees design, marketing, and operations management for the Sitka Residential team. He has over 30 years of experience in the residential home building industry. Before joining Sitka, he worked at Ryan Homes (NVR, Inc.) for over 27 years where he was responsible for land acquisition, production, sales, and warranty for over 8000 homes in the Maryland/DC and Baltimore markets while serving in many operational positions. Most recently he held the position of Ryan Homes Vice President/Division Manager with full P&L responsibility in the Maryland & DC market.

More home inventory is needed for a balanced market.

The National Association of Realtors has estimated that existing home sales growth has lagged while inventory declined. As of November 2019, inventory has fallen to a 3.6-month supply (a 6-month supply would be considered more representative of a balanced market).

The last ten years have seen significant amounts of underbuilding compared to prior decades.
